LOCAL BUILDER EARNS HIGHEST AVAILABLE DESIGNATION BY NATIONAL HOME BUILDERS ASSOCATION
Greenstone Builders founder and CEO is first Buncombe builder to achieve both Graduate Master Builder and Certified Graduate Builder status
(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) – March 28, 2009: An Asheville homebuilder is the first in Buncombe County and one of only two in Western North Carolina to be awarded both Graduate Master Builder and Certified Graduate Builder status, the highest designations awarded by the National Home Builders Association.
Rick Dwyer, founder and CEO of Greenstone Builders Inc., in Asheville, recently earned GMB credentials in addition to CGB designation, which he was awarded in 2007. Recognized as the ultimate symbol of the building professional, GMB designation is for experienced veterans with proven track records of successful project management, who have successfully completed a comprehensive education curriculum. To earn both designations, builders also must adhere to the NAHB professional code of ethics and meet prescribed standards of business practice. In addition, NAHB requires GMB designees to stay current on best practices in the building industry by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years.
Because GMB and CGB credentials are voluntarily earned and not required by law, consumers can readily identify builders who have demonstrated expertise and a commitment to quality and a high level of integrity.
A member of the Asheville Home Builders Association board of directors, Dwyer founded Greenstone in 2005. Today the company is one of the fastest growing builders in the area specializing in exclusively ENERGY STAR® and HealthyBuilt homes. Among its current projects is the “Blog Cabin” for DIY Network, now under construction in The Preserve at Little Pine, a planned community in Madison County where Greenstone is a preferred builder. The dwelling incorporates preferences of Internet users – bloggers – in the design of the home.
Greenstone Builders has won two Parade of Homes awards since its founding in 2005. Currently Greenstone has 10 other homes under construction as well as the Village on Haywood, a 70,000-square foot, multi-family, mixed-use project in West Asheville. The company is located in the East Park Center at 1070 Tunnel Road, Building 2, Suite 60. For more information, visit www.buildgreenstone.com or call 828-298-8188.
